THE ATUEL CANYON
The Atuel Canyon is the best known and most visited place in San Rafael. Many people come to the city with the excuse of driving through this impressive canyon and even doing different water activities such as rafting.
The canyon joins the reservoirs of El Nihuil with that of Valle Grande through Provincial Route 173. It can be done in both directions.
Once past El Nihuil, the journey through the Atuel Canyon begins. They are about 45 km in total, bordering the Atuel River in the direction of Valle Grande. There are hostels to take a few panoramic photos and stalls with handicrafts and souvenirs to buy.

Rafting, trekking, cabalgatas y más. En el Cañón del Atuel se pueden realizar muchas actividades de aventura.
Las empresas que organizan este tipo de actividades están ubicadas del lado de Valle Grande a la entrada del Cañón. Desde aquí parten tours de aventura y excursiones.
Un lugar muy visitado es el Parque de la Aventura ( http://www.parquedelaaventura.com/ ), un parque con muchas opciones para pasar el día haciendo actividades al aire libre en Valle Grande.
